New Year’s Resolutions for Small Businesses

The new year is fast approaching which means it’s time to set new year’s resolutions. Resolutions aren’t only for personal use; businesses can benefit from setting goals that they want to achieve in the new year. Take time to reflect on what changes would help your business succeed.

Need resolution ideas? Here are 6 recommendations for your business:

1.     Prioritize strengthening your online presence.

As technological advancements give us and our consumers new and convenient ways to carry out tasks, it’s important that our businesses take advantage of these opportunities. Having an online presence through webpages and social media profiles can make it easier to sell your good or service to your target audience.

2.     Step up your online marketing game.

Backing up tip #1, online marketing allows your business to gain attention from all over the globe in just one place! Social media marketing, for example, plays a huge role in the successes of many businesses. Creating perfect advertisements or posts can be time consuming and difficult if you’re not a professional. That’s why we’re here to help! We offer a wide variety of services including website design, content, social media posts, advertisements, graphic design and more. It’s okay to outsource!

3.     Adopt a growth mindset.

This is often a personal new year’s resolution, but it also can apply to businesses. For a business, recognizing that there is always room for improvement in one way or another is an example of growth mindset. Instead of settling for good enough, strive to go above and beyond! If there is an issue, find the root of that issue so it can be solved for the long-term. With a growth mindset you may realize that you could sharpen up on several skills to be the best manager, employee, or person you can be. There are many online training platforms available to choose from.

4.     Maintain healthy communication and a positive work environment.

Within an organization, it’s important to maintain clear communication among all employees in all departments. Healthy communication is part of creating a positive work environment. By being open to new ideas, taking suggestions, listening to feedback, and responding to other’s needs, more productive work can be done.

5.     Update goals.

Make sure that when heading into the new year, your business’s goals have been evaluated and updated. Goals should be monitored throughout the year, some say monthly, with adjustments being made as needed. Be sure to inform all employees about new organizational goals and objectives.

6.     Make an effort to listen to customer feedback.

Show your customers that you care about what they have to say. Send out surveys and respond to customer concerns. Building positive relationships with your customers will keep them coming back! Feedback from customers can be extremely helpful when improving your product or service.
