Is Your Business In Its Success Era?

Just this month, Taylor Swift has added her Eras tour to Disney+ and if you’re like me, you ask the question of, “How does she do it?” Even Taylor has crafted 7 tips to her success, and here’s how you can apply those to your small business:

1.        Don’t lose your self-awareness.

Once you start to feel untouchable or that you have nothing to learn, you’ll begin your decline. Sometimes new products or services will be a flop, and that’s normal. Not everything you do can be the greatest thing ever.

2.        Rely on your friends.

As a business, you should rely on your employees. Every employee should be well trained and confident in the work they do. To make a business run smoothly, it takes a team. Don’t be afraid to ask your friends/employees to share posts, ideas, or photos. After all, word of mouth is the best form of marketing.

3.        Be prepared to take criticism.

Like noted in tip #1, not everything you do is going to be a hit. When you receive feedback, especially from customers, listen and respond. Be thankful that they’re being honest with you. In the long-run, they’re helping your business become better.

4.        Know when to take a break.

It’s possible to have too much of a good thing. Know when it’s time to dial it back. Doing too much can be overwhelming, not just for customers, but the business and its employees as well.

5.        Remember why you’re doing what you do and stay excited by it.

Stay focused on your company’s mission and values. Choose actions that support these. Let them fuel your passion for what you do, giving you the energy to keep providing for your customers.

6.        Write down your ideas in a notebook.

Keep track of business plans and new product ideas. Maybe it’s not feasible for your business to execute those plans right now, but in the future, you’re going to want those ideas. This is also a great way to brainstorm and organize your thoughts.

7.        Don’t forget to forgive yourself.

Everyone makes mistakes. We need to move past them and on to the next thing. There is no sense dwelling on what didn’t work when you can spend that time making the next big thing.
