How Tabling Events Increase Business Exposure

Tabling events are a great way to boost exposure to your business by engaging with potential customers in a personal way. You’re able to share information while simultaneously gathering insights and preferences from your target audience. By doing this, you can improve your products or services to best tailor to their needs.

What is a tabling event?

A tabling event is one where businesses can set up tables at high traffic events, like local fairs, carnivals, farmers markets, music festivals, or 1 day pop ups. The purpose of attending a tabling event is to increase brand awareness, show off products or services, and most importantly, connect with potential customers.

By interacting face-to-face, relationships can be built on a more personal level, creating a stronger bond to your brand. Make sure when people leave your table, they have a way to contact you, and hopefully, a way you can contact them.

What does a successful table look like?

Successful tables are ones that are inviting, uncluttered, and interesting. Things you should have at your table are business cards, one-sided basic facts sheets, and an email sign-up sheet. If you want to make your table more enticing, freebies like candy, imprinted pens, and company stickers are a hit.

If you can, try to have more than one volunteer present at your table. By doing this, you create a more open environment for communication. All volunteers should be acquainted with the brand. Branding is extremely important to promoting a business. Read more about branding here.

Helpful Tip: Be organized. If you make any follow up appointments with potential customers, be sure to write them down. Don’t solely rely on memory!

Tabling events are a great way to be seen, especially if you’re an online-only business. Be on the lookout for vendor applications, which could be months in advance. However, you should be aware that tabling events can come with price tags. Depending on the location and event, booth rental prices can vary. Some events also require you to provide your own tables, chairs, and canopies. If you’re not planning on attending many events, stick to events that provide tables and chairs to avoid that investment cost.
